Gotham Knights is finally released with its awesome story but that doesn't means you have to fight crime alone in Gotham Knights you can play co-op multiplayer online, you can play as Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood, and supports cooperative multiplayer, allowing players to complete missions together. But, the game don’t allow co-op in starting of the game, and there are few things you should know before joining co-op online. Here’s what you need to know about co-op in Gotham Knights, including how to unlock multiplayer mode.
HOW TO UNLOCK CO-OP IN GOTHAM KNIGHTS
In Gotham Knights before jumping into cooperative multiplayer, you need to unlock it first, you have to play the main story single player mode until you reach The Langstrom Drive.
The Langstrom Drive is the second mission in Gotham Knights opening Case File, Batman's Last Case. You have to Complete this Subcase and go back to the Belfry, and the game will show you that CO-OP multiplayer is unlocked. This will happen when you finished your first night of patrol, just before Subcase Weird Science.
HOW TO PLAY ONLINE IN GOTHAM KNIGHTS
In Gotham Knights Quick Match is the fastest way to play online game. Gotham Knights supports two player CO-OP play. You can play co-op online by queue up with random players in game or a join your friend. To play with a random players, go to the Multiplayer menu, select Quick Match option then Main Story to search for a random player. In case if you don’t want to play with random players then you need to adjust the privacy settings. From within the game, Go the Privacy option, and you see four options. Here are these four options.
1- Public
2- Friends of Friends
3- Friends Only
4- Invited Players
Select the SOS Public option at the first allows anyone to join you, but if you change it to Invited Players you can enjoy the game without any random player bothering you.
In case if you want to play with a friend, then the process is different. Go back to pause menu and select Social. Here, you will see all your friends. You can select their name and invite them to your game. In this menu you can check all your recent players in Recent tab.
DOES GOTHAM KNIGHTS HAVE CROSS-PLAY?
There is no crossplay option in Gotham Knights for now. Players can only play with same platform users like Pc to Pc or playstation 5 to playstation 5.
HOW GOTHAM KNIGHTS CO-OP PROGRESSION WORKS
In GOTHAM KNIGHTS each session is always level to the host's current level so if you are at level 30 and join someone's game who is on level 10, you will drop down to level 10. You can skip missions that you have already played and completed in co-op. Both the players will earn XP and gear. You can choose to play the missions together or play your own to fight crime separately but only the host will gain story progress, but once you come back to your own world, the game will ask your choice if you want to skip a mission that you have already completed it in co-op. This means you can play different story missions without having to complete them again in your own game.

First thing you can try is close the game, restart the pc and check if a fresh start fixes it.
If you purchased Gotham Knights on Steam you can verify your game files to fix any corrupt files.

-Open Steam.
-In your library find the game.
-Right click on the game, then click on Properties.
-Check the Local Files tab.
-Now click Verify Integrity of Game Files.
-Once the process is done, start your game.
If you are still not able to join random players in the matchmaking process, there are chances are that your internet connection has some issues. You can try reset your router and connect again. If you are playing Gotham Knights on PC make sure that your antivirus or firewall is not blocking your connection to the game server.
Check if Gotham Knights Servers are Down
Other reason why your co-op multiplayer is not working in Gotham Knights is that the game servers are down. In this case if game servers are down, You cannot fix that, all you can do is wait until the servers are come online again. You can check the online threads like Gotham Knights official twitter handle or Reddit, Discord, and to see if other players are having same issue.
